BCAP is excited to unveil the new and improved version of the residential state code status map, located below. The map includes a new color scheme and revised legends, simplifying comparisons of codes across states.

Click on individual states to view the most up-to-date, detailed code status information on building energy codes.In instances where a state has developed its own code, the maps approximate its stringency in terms of the national model codes. Every effort is made to ensure that they are accurate and up-to-date. If you have any questions or comments about the maps, please contact us.

NOTE: This map reflects only mandatory statewide residential codes currently in effect. States that have adopted new codes that are not yet effective are noted with an asterisk (*).
