DOE Releases Guidelines for EECBG Grants Under ARRA

The U.S. Department of Energy has issued the guidelines for states to receive grant funding under the agency's Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants (EECBG) program appropriated through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The bill passed by Congress on February 13 allocated over $20 billion for energy efficiency initiatives, including $3.2 billion for grants that will allow state and local governments to aggressively implement energy efficiency programs.

Grant applications for states are due May 26, 2009 at 8:00pm Eastern time.  Grant applications for local units of government and tribal applicants are due June 25, 2009 at 8:00pm Eastern time.
