What does BTS stand for?

Probably, there is no one on this planet who has not heard about BTS or not read headlines about breaking the records and selling out stadiums. BTS stands for “Bangtan Boys” who entered the music scenario just a few years back but their albums and songs are already topping the music charts.

But, why BTS name? How did this name come? Well, In the first place this BTS actually stands for, “Bangtan Sonyeondan” which originally means “Bulletproof Boy Scouts”. In an interview J-Hope, one of the members of this BTS band concluded that Bangtan has a pretty deep meaning that stands for resistant to bullets; bullets that block the criticism, expectations, and hopes of adolescence.

BTS is a South Korean boy band of seven members including Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. RM, Suga, and J-Hope handle the rapper part whereas Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook handle the vocal part.

The BTS K-Pop group debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment and in no time their first single album “2 Cool 4 Skool” shoot up to popularity.


Who is BTS Army?

BTS fans are called BTS Army in Korean and English. If we deep dive into BTS Army’s story, the Army name was given to the BTS fandom on July 9, 2013, soon after the release of BTS’s first single “2 Cool 4 Skool”. The word ARMY relates to “Adorable Representative M.C. For Youth” but some other websites use the “Bangtan Sonyeondan” (Bulletproof Boyscouts) acronym for this word ARMY.

The BTS ARMY always used their powers for social and political causes either for raising money, feeding LGBTQ+ refugees, and lots more. BTS Army and BTS members have both been charging each other since they debuted in 2013 with their popular album “2 Cool 4 Skool”.

Additionally, the word ARMY was mentioned in BTS’s popular singles of 2021, “Permission to Dance”. The song was co-written with Ed Sheeran.


Where are BTS members right now?

Sadly, the BTS member is on a break and they announced that in July. They wanted to be back with more maturity and some other plans. They are working day and night from past 10 years and have missed lots of things and entertainment in life. Said, Jungkook through a Youtube video while having dinner with all the members of BTS.

How many songs does BTS have?

BTS boys have flooded the music chart with their hit albums since they debuted in 2013. The K-Pop band has delivered around 235 songs that include soundtracks, reissues, studio albums, and lots more. With the versatile vocal and performances, their albums include Korean, Japanese. and English language.

Almost every album of BTS members topped the “Gaon Digital Chart”. Their first album “2 Cool 4 Skool” occupied the fifth position on South Korea’s Gaon Music Chart. Later the same year, BTS released many albums N.O., No More Dreams, O! RUL8, 2, and lots more. Their “Skool Luv Affair” appeared on Billboards World Albums for the first time sticking at number three.

You Never Walk Alone, Spring Day, etc were BTS songs that won Best song of the Year at the 2017 Melon Music Awards.

As of 2022, BTS is the best-selling artist in South Korean history, and their studio album Map of the Soul: 7 (2020) is the best-selling album of all time in South Korea. They were awarded Global Recording Artist of the Year for both 2020 and 2021.
